Section 3.1.1 Standard Operating Procedures

Transport Canada provides two items that guide the requirement for Standard Operating Procedures:

• Ref 1 is the CARS Section IX item 901.23 Procedures items that are “essential” for operations.
• Ref 2 is the Transport Canada Advisory Circular 901-002 dated 1 April 2025. This Air Circular provides a guide to the development of RPAS Operating Procedures for companies.  Appendix A provides the template for the establishment of Company Standard Operating Procedures. 
• Transport Canada clearly states that SOPs will be different from one company to another based on the size of the company and the complexity of the operations the company intends to conduct.
